The CDIFS Solver

The Constant Density Incompressible Flow Solver (CDIFS) integrates the Navier-Stokes equations: $$\begin{eqnarray} \frac{\partial \mathbf{u}}{\partial t} +\nabla\cdot (\mathbf{u}\mathbf{u})&=&-\frac{1}{\rho}\nabla p+\nu \nabla^2\mathbf{u}+\mathbf{f}\label{eq:NVS1}\\ \nabla\cdot\mathbf{u}&=&0\label{eq:NVS2} \end{eqnarray}$$ for flows with constant density $\rho$ and viscosity $\nu$. The solver supports the following features:

• DNS of flow around complex geometries represented using the Volume-Filtering Immersed Boundary Method
• Particle-Resolved Direct Numerical Simulations (PR-DNS) of flows with fully resolved spherical particles
